India has a rich history of handweaving long yards of cloth into an absolute mystique piece of art- known as a "Saree" or "Sari". Conventional weaving in India is done using handlooms (a loom powered manually), and every region, village, and community across India has its unique weaving traditions with distinct patterns and designs. Saree weaving in India is considered a true craftsmanship which not only involves having a profound understanding of the material and tools utilized, but more importantly involves a genuine pride that drives the weavers when crafting these beautiful pieces of art. Each handwoven saree has a unique appeal, emotion, and mystery to it which governs the choice of the weaving colors and patterns, and therefore revealing a distinctive story. Much like other artisans across the world, this art is passed from one generation to the next. At Six Yards of Mystique our mission is to preserve this cultural heritage, and to encourage and support the handloom textiles which serves as the prime income source for millions of artisans in India. We are committed to bring to you the most varied collection of exclusive handwoven and handspun sarees from all over the country
